Image
This picture shows the basis of our props and what it looked like when we wear it. Our props is mexicano inspiration, Where in we recycled plastic bottle with grains of rice to used as the maracas. Then with our custume we simply used fabric that is similar to the fabric that mexicanos wear. And lastly with the hat, we used "payabyab" coated with the same fabric used as our custume. In this picture, this is the picture taken before our actual performace. We took picture with full costuem and props with our best of the best trainor, dance instructor and choreographer, Mr. Gary Abad. This imagine was taken during the parade of Ilocos Sur National High School. As you can see we are only holding our recyled maracas for boys and flags for girl in our parade  because the teachers doesn't allows use to used our costume due to the high index in that day. Gender Equality: Shared Journey towards equality and enclusion

Image
Women's Month provides a vital opportunity to assess progress toward gender equality and the ongoing work needed for a truly inclusive society. The theme, "WE for Gender Equality and an Inclusive Society," highlights the shared responsibility in this endeavor. It's not solely about women's empowerment, but a fundamental societal shift demanding the active participation of all.        While progress has been made  more women in leadership roles, stronger legal protections, and evolving attitudes significant challenges persist. The gender pay gap remains, women are underrepresented in power structures, and gender-based violence continues. These are not isolated incidents but systemic issues stemming from deeply entrenched biases and power imbalances.              The "WE" emphasizes the collaborative effort required to overcome these barriers. Men must actively challenge patriarchal norms, support ge...

Valentines Day: A Celebration of Genuine Love and Bond

Image
The commercialization of Valentine's Day often overshadows its true potential: a celebration of love's diverse expressions. Instead of succumbing to the pressure of extravagant gestures and unrealistic expectations, we can reclaim this day to focus on genuine connection and heartfelt appreciation.        The romanticized ideal of lavish dinners and expensive gifts often creates disappointment and feelings of inadequacy. True connection lies beyond these superficial displays. A more meaningful Valentine's    Day prioritizes genuine appreciation for those who matter most. This might involve a simple phone call to a distant relative, a handwritten note to a friend, or an act of service for family. The emphasis shifts from material gifts to strengthening bonds through thoughtful gestures.        For romantic partners, the day offers a chance for reflection and reaffirmation. Meaningful conv...

Vigan: A timeless Treasure of Ilocos Sur

Image
Imagine stepping back in time to Vigan, a town in the Philippines back in the 1600s. You’d see bustling streets filled with merchants selling rice, tobacco, and indigo, all brought in by boats on the Abra River. The houses were amazing ,grand and elegant, built by wealthy families who were the heart of the town. Life revolved around the church and community, with everyone coming together for festivals and celebrations.   Fast forward to today, and Vigan is a place frozen in time. Those beautiful Spanish colonial houses are still standing, a reminder of the town’s rich history. Now, instead of merchants, you see tourists from all over the world, drawn to the town's charm. The town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, a testament to how well it has preserved its past.    Of course, things have changed. Vigan is no longer just a trading center. Tourism is now its main source of income, and the town has adapted to welcome visitors. You’ll find hotels, restaurants, and even souven...
